Internet ad revenue reached $5.9 billion in the third quarter, up 11.0% over the same period last year, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
For the first nine months of this year, Internet ad revenue totaled $17.3 billion, up 13.8% from $15.2 billion in the first nine months of 2007.
“The growth of interactive advertising that we’ve been experiencing over the past few years has stabilized, due in large part to the difficult current economic climate,” said Randall Rothenberg, president-CEO of the IAB.
While double-digit annual growth continues, quarter-to-quarter growth remains relatively flat compared with recent past performance, according to the report.
Third-quarter revenue was up just 2% over second-quarter revenue of $5.7 billion.
