New research has found that permission-based email marketing can give consumers a more favourable impression of companies.

Epsilon's permission-based email branding survey found that 57 per cent of people have a more positive feeling about firms which adopt the marketing tactic.

It also found that 71 per cent of respondents remember any email communication when they are making purchases at the relevant company's web site.

Kevin Mabley, senior vice president of Epsilon Strategic Services, said the study shows the "importance of email marketing as part of a multi-channel communication strategy".

He added: "The consumer insights collected in the study reiterate the need to deliver timely, relevant email messages that reflect the overall image of our clients' brands."
